Asheville North Carolina is known for many things.  But Number One is hospitality.  It is truly visitor friendly and offers many vacation rental alternatives.

Most of us are tired of the traditional Hiltons and Days Inns.  And most of the best known Bed and Breakfasts are hardly out of the hustle and bustle of traffic and “city life”.

So we suggest that you enjoy the sights and sounds of Asheville by day and then take in a true West Carolina mountain experience in your “off hours”.

Our choice is the Flat Rock North Carolina area.  Specifically, the Highland Lake Resort community.  In fact we love it so much that our family has built four cabins there as a retreat and vacation “heaven”.

But we can’t use them all the time so we rent them out to our friends and others who wish to enjoy a true North Carolina mountain experience.

Flat Rock is barely a half hour south of Asheville.  Just far enough to get a true mountain high.

The Flat Rock-Hendersonville area has incredible dining, shopping and recreational facilities.  Several golf courses are just minutes away from our cottages.
